Silvia Dee & the Boyfriend (aka Rob Deyman) perform rootsy blues, a little swing, served up with a side order of Louisiana spice!
You can expect a fun musical experience featuring original songs, deep cut covers with a twist and a modern original groove based in the blues. Silvia Dee sings plays keys and accordion for a Latin groove or Zydeco style, and Rob plays electric, resonator and acoustic guitar, mandolin and banjo, adding vocals too. The husband & wife duo have played venues all across Ontario, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Halifax. They've appeared at festivals such as Lighthouse Blues Festival, West Coast Blues Festival, Belmont Bestival and the Kitchener Blues Festival. They were selected for cross Canada tours as Via Rail “artist on board" and represented the Grand River Blues Society, playing on stage at the Memphis International Blues Challenge.
They've shared the stage with Mel Brown, Big Dave McLean, Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Delta Moon, and Lil Ed and Blues Imperials, to mention a few. For recordings and larger band projects they also lead a larger band project: “waterstreet blues band, ” also performing at venues and festivals across Ontario, with summer tours around the Great Lakes. Their new song "Riverside Child" was a finalist in the 2020 International Blues & Roots Songwriting competition.
